For this year’s Robert Walters Charity Week, I would like to ask for your help in raising money for kids in hospital.
In April, we learned that Tomoki, my 2 year-old son, had leukemia. Since then, he has been spending most of his time in a children’s hospital.
I visit there often and realized there were many kids fighting all different kinds of diseases.
Because of strong medical treatments and being away from home for a long time, sometimes kids look very depressed and tired.
COVID is making the situation worse. Only one parent can see their child for 3 hours a day. No Dad and Mum together, no brothers and sisters for a long time.
In this tough situation, I found that there is a dog visiting kids every day. Kids smile when they see the dog. They pat, talk, laugh, and walk together.
The dog is from Shine On! Kids, an NPO supporting children with cancer and other serious illnesses.
I will walk from my house to the hospital, which is around 25km, wearing a Robert Walters t-shirt.
All of your donations will go to Shine On! Kids. Even 1 yen or 1 won is fine, the kids will appreciate your support!!!
My son has lost his hair from chemo but has not lost his smile! Let’s send some smiles to the kids fighting in hospitals!
Thank you,
Shigeki Yaginuma
