How to Help

Fundraising

Fundraising

Make a difference in the lives of children dealing with cancer and other serious illnesses and their families. Whether you are thinking about running a marathon or hosting an event at your school or business, there are several ways you can get your community involved and contribute to supporting sick children in Japan.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Carry a Bead

Carry a Bead is part of our Beads of Courage Program and is a unique opportunity for supporters to directly lend their strength, encouragement, and support to a child battling cancer or another serious illness in the hospital. By choosing to participate, you are honoring a child’s courage in their fight and giving them hope that they are not alone. Choose to share your life’s journeys—whether it is a New Year’s resolution, a life change, or a 5K run. Join as an individual or as a group.

At Work

Workplace fundraising is a great way to bring employees together in support of a common cause. Plan a fundraising activity and encourage workers to get involved with activities such as fitness events, casual dress day, birthday celebrations, or holiday parties. Not sure where to begin? Our team is happy to provide guidance and information on how to kick things off.

At School

Your school can help make a difference in the lives of children in Japan. Whether you are a student, teacher, or parent, there are numerous ways to help. For example, you could have a Shine On! Kids booth at your next school fair, host a bake sale, or host a free dress day. We are happy to help you brainstorm ways you can get your school and students involved.

If you are interested in organizing an activity to support Shine On! Kids, please contact us at info@sokids.org
