While the COVID-19 crisis continues to change the landscape of our world, kids in hospital with cancer and other serious illnesses are also reeling from the impact of this virus. These are scary times for children, but many young patients in hospital are struggling to deal with a sudden deepening of isolation in their day-to-day lives: very limited time with their parents, total suspension of in-hospital volunteer activities, and new policies forbidding home visits. Without our usual fundraising galas and events, Shine On! Kids needs to work even harder to raise funds that we so desperately need to keep our programs running.
